Excuse Me, Miss What?

missmeyet-thumb-400x3001Lately this billboard showing former President George W. Bush waving and saying “Miss Me Yet?” has caused Conservatives to rally around and say that they do, in fact, miss George W. Bush. This is why the new Conservative movement has no hope!

What do we miss? Is it the massive amounts of debt and deficits that could put most Liberals to shame? Was it the stripping of our civil liberties after 9/11?  Massive increases in Medicare and the creation of Medicare Part D? The failed attempt at privatizing Social Security? The centralization of education? Massive bailouts? Oh wait, Conservatives like those things unless Obama does it.What part of a Big Government Statist like George W. Bush who pretended to be for Capitalism and Free Markets, do you all miss?

Don’t give me that “Well, Obama is really bad and he is turning this country socialist and Bush was at least honest when he went against public support.” I hate to break it to you but George W. Bush did more to bring Stalinism then Barack Obama. And he wasn’t exactly honest about it.

Sure, it is still early but either way we should not be missing a statist because we have a potentially worse one.

Wake up Conservatives. The very reason why government is so big is not because of only FDR. We haven’t had a Republican since Calvin Coolidge who kept government limited (and that is even arguable).

So what should we be missing? Try a government so limited that we could go through our daily life and not encounter government a single hindrance.
